Love getting young people moving? Confident leading sessions, building rapport quickly, and bringing real energy to a sports hall or playing field? Bristol and South Gloucestershire secondary schools are calling out for enthusiastic Sports Coaches to step in and deliver high-quality PE cover.

This is a brilliant role if you enjoy variety, thrive in fast-paced environments, and want to make a genuine difference to students’ confidence and wellbeing through sport.

Your Role in Helping Students Thrive

As a Sports Coach working with Protocol Education, you’ll be stepping into PE lessons across a range of Bristol secondary schools. You’ll help keep the curriculum on track, guide students through practical activities, and set the tone for a positive, active learning environment.

You’ll be:

  • Leading PE lessons with confidence, clarity, and plenty of enthusiasm

  • Encouraging teamwork, resilience, and skill development

  • Managing equipment, ensuring safe and inclusive sessions

  • Building great relationships with staff and students

  • Maintaining a calm, organised learning space, even on busy days

What You’ll Bring

We’re looking for coaches who love sport, understand young people, and know how to motivate a group.

You’ll shine in this role if you have:

  • Experience in sports coaching or leading physical activity sessions

  • Strong communication and behavior management skills

  • A positive, proactive attitude that young people respond to

  • Flexibility across school hours, Monday to Friday

  • Sports coaching qualifications or working towards them, if possible

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
