Sports Science Graduate

Are you a Sports Science Graduate looking to start your career within Education? Are you keen to gain more experience in the classroom and in sports before completing your teacher training?

The school

This school is an outstanding non-selective secondary school located in the London borough of Tower Hamlets. They have been an outstanding school for the last decade and have consistently achieved excellent exam results putting them in the top 5% for student progress. Many of the children who attend the school go to study at Russell brick universities.

They have fantastic modern facilities in a university campus layout, extensive IT facilities, large outdoor playing fields and one of the largest post 16 centres in London.

Role

Sports Science Graduate

The school is looking to secure a Sport Science Graduate to start asap for an ongoing assignment and daily sickness cover. The role will involve covering PE and all other subjects as and when required.

A Cover Supervisor\'s main objective is to oversee the smooth running of all lessons during the school day including:

  • Supervising the cover work set by the absent teacher
  • Ensuring the children have the required resources and knowledge to complete the work set by the teacher
  • Managing the behaviour of pupils during the lesson to ensure all work is completed to a high standard
  • Dealing with any immediate problems or emergencies
  • Collecting completed work after lesson and returning it to the appropriate teacher/department.
Experience needed
  • Level 2 coaching certificate
  • Experience assisting/running PE related sessions for Secondary aged students
  • Degree in Sports Science
