Salary & Benefits

Up to £53,200 pro rata (DOE) plus £3,000 Welcome Bonus (payable as two installments of £1,500). Other benefits: £2,000 training allowance, pension scheme, life assurance, comprehensive health and wellbeing support, and a wide range of discounts.

Hours: 22.5 hours per week, 3 days (days to be agreed) – full‑time possible. Options for 37.5 hours per week (Term time only) or flexibility around a full‑time contract.

Essential Criteria
  • Undergraduate or postgraduate degree in Speech and Language Therapy
  • HCPC registration
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience as a fully registered RCSLT member in a comparable setting
  • Experience engaging and working with individuals presenting complex and diverse communication profiles
  • Knowledge of neurodiversity and trauma‑informed practice
  • Experience of multidisciplinary work and communication with families, relatives and carers
  • Interest in developing knowledge and skills across SaLT practice areas
  • Good relationship‑building, analytical, judgmental and communication skills (oral and written)
  • Excellent time‑management and organisational skills
  • Competency in core SaLT practice and clear understanding of RCSLT standards
Responsibilities
  • Deliver bespoke Speech and Language Therapy assessment and intervention to pupils with developmental trauma, neurodivergence or SEMH needs.
  • Apply the OFG Speech and Language Therapy Ways of Working to guide practice within the educational setting.
  • Hold a SaLT caseload with support from a clinical supervisor and site lead.
  • Contribute to staff training and consultative activities as required.
  • Maintain a person‑centred, empowering approach and uphold a strong safeguarding culture.
  • Work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Communicate support plans and interventions with families, carers and school staff.
  • Engage with professional development, including research projects and special interest groups.
