Requirements
- Experience and knowledge of social, emotional, and mental health needs (SEMH).
- Bachelor's degree in speech and language pathology, communication disorders, or a related field.
- Experience working with children with speech, language and communication difficulties (previous experience in an educational setting is highly desirable).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Be aware of and knowledgeable about different additional needs such as ASC, ADHD, MLD and SEMH.
Responsibilities
- Assisting teachers in delivering engaging and interactive lessons.
- To work with children on a 1:1 and small group basis to help overcome their barriers to learning.
- Assisting the speech and language therapist in implementing individualised therapy plans.
- Conducting one-on-one or small group sessions with students to practice speech and language skills.
- Monitoring and documenting student progress and adjusting therapy techniques accordingly.
- Collaborating with teachers and parents to develop strategies for incorporating speech and language goals into the classroom and home environments.
- Supporting students during classroom activities, ensuring their participation and comprehension.
