Job summary

Job description
Overview

We are looking for a Band 6 acute Speech and Language Therapist for West Middlesex University Hospital. This role follows staff promotion and offers opportunities for professional development. You should have specialist clinical knowledge and be enthusiastic about service promotion and development.

Responsibilities
  • Manage a complex SLT caseload independently, providing second opinions and advice for junior staff.
  • Work as part of a multidisciplinary team and collaborate with patients, carers, voluntary sector and Social Services in the planning and delivery of care.
  • Provide specialist Speech and Language Therapy assessment and management to adult inpatients on acute wards.
  • Provide expertise in Videofluoroscopy and/or tracheostomy (full support and training will be provided where needed).
  • Participate in regular site‑specific and cross‑site departmental meetings, supervision, CPD and peer support.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Band 6 level of practice.
  • Specialist clinical knowledge and skills in acute speech and language therapy.
  • Experience with Videofluoroscopy and/or tracheostomy preferred.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours and occasional weekend shifts at multiple sites.
