Speech and Language Therapy Assistant Pottersbury Lodge School

Salary 25,521.60

Full time: 40 hours working 37.5 hours

Main duties / Responsibilities

• Work as part of the Speech and Language Therapy team and be based at Cambian Pottersbury Lodge School. This post combines clinical and administrative support roles.
• Work directly with individual students or groups to deliver therapy programmes, under the direction of a Speech and Language Therapist (SLT).
• Support SLTs in assessment of residents’ communication skills, report on students’ progress, and provide support with resources for individuals.
• Contribute to the development of an Inclusive Communication Environment.
• Receive regular supervision and, as part of the Cambian SLT service, be eligible for training.

Potterspury Lodge School is an Ofsted registered independent specialist school offering 38 week, term time education for students aged 8-16 years old with Autism Spectrum Condition, complex needs and challenging behaviour.

Candidate Profile / Qualifications

• It is essential that the successful candidate has an interest in communication and has worked with young people with autism, severe learning disabilities and challenging behaviour; experience of complex needs would be an advantage.
• Basic IT skills and the ability to work flexibly and collaboratively as part of a team for all aspects of this post are essential.
