Specifier Account Manager – London
Overview
To ensure that Specifiers (Architects) and the Design community consistently consider Herman Miller & Knoll products—and by extension, the broader Miller Knoll brand portfolio—on every new project opportunity, a strategic and responsive approach is essential.
Responsibilities
- To champion Herman Miller and Knoll within the Specifier and Design (S+D) community by building strong, informed, and influential relationships that drive brand preference, generate project opportunities, and ensure Miller Knoll brands are considered first on every new design initiative.
- Opportunity Generation: Proactively identify and qualify new project opportunities for the sales funnel. Maintain ownership of opportunities originating from the S+D community, ensuring continuity and accountability.
- Brand & Product Awareness: Deliver compelling insights and product knowledge to specifiers through tailored presentations, seminars, and one-on-one engagements. Organize and host showroom visits (London + Portal Mill) to immerse clients in the brand experience.
- Relationship Building: Cultivate new relationships with architects, designers, and industry influencers. Maintain and strengthen existing relationships, especially during project challenges, acting as a trusted advisor and problem-solver.
- Community Engagement: Facilitate meaningful dialogue around design trends, workplace insights, and product innovation. Organize and participate in A&D networking events to foster community and brand visibility.
- Cross-Brand Collaboration: Network across Miller Knoll brands to align messaging and leverage collective strength. Involve specialist sales resources where appropriate to support complex or sector-specific opportunities.
- Training & Development: Participate in induction and product training to stay current and support internal knowledge sharing. Deliver accredited seminars from the Miller Knoll Insight Group’s programme at client offices and showrooms.
- CRM & Reporting: Ensure regular and accurate input of activities and opportunities into Salesforce.com to support pipeline visibility and strategic planning.
Qualifications
- Good level of education
- Successful sales experience of at least 3 years
- Proven demonstrable track record of working with Architecture and Design community
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Willingness/ability to travel
- Organized, methodical, and patient with the ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Flexible to work out of hours when required
- Numerate in the preparation of quotations
- Strong interpersonal skills and a self-motivated, energetic work ethic
- Diplomatic and ambitious
- Valid UK driving license
