A Vacancy at Kent and Medway Mental Health NHS Trust.

Overview

The Trust is seeking a Specialty Doctor in Psychiatry to join the Rehabilitation Psychiatry service in North and West Kent. This is a 10‑person‑attendance post, with the option to discuss a more flexible working pattern to support work‑life balance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide senior medical input to the Rehabilitation mental health service, including initial assessment, follow‑up reviews for patients requiring short‑term input, and CPA reviews for patients with long‑term needs on the Enhanced CPA Pathway.
  • Work with other clinicians in the team and maintain joint caseloads, following the Trust’s Lone Working Policy.
  • Meet MHA Section 12(2) approval requirements or progress towards them, and contribute to a middle‑tier non‑residential on‑call rota if approved.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Full registration with the GMC, including licence to practice.
  • MHA Section 12(2) approval holders or candidates working towards this approval.
  • Experience in adult mental health, particularly rehabilitation psychiatry (preferred but not mandatory).
  • Strong commitment to patient‑centred care and the Trust’s values of caring, inclusive, curious and confident.
