We are looking to appoint Specialty Doctors in Emergency Medicine at University Hospitals Dorset to work at the Royal Bournemouth Hospital site, just a stone's throw from the glorious blue flag beaches of Bournemouth and Poole (we know we're biased).
The Emergency Medicine team at UHD has a significant amount of experience and expertise in supporting doctors through the CESR programme, many of whom now work as substantive consultants at both sites. We run a CESR programme which includes a bespoke professional development plan tailored to meeting the needs of the individual doctor, including placements in Critical Care, Anaesthetics, Acute Medicine and Paediatrics, as well as mentor support from a consultant that has previously attained CESR.
There is the option for successful candidates to participate in this programme if desired.
Recently Poole, Bournemouth and Christchurch Hospitals have undergone merger into UHD. At present there is an Emergency Department at both Poole and Bournemouth sites, with RBH being the designated site for PCI and stroke thrombolysis, and Poole being the designated Major Trauma Unit as well as in patient paediatric services.
This is all set to change at the end of 2024 when the Trauma Unit status moves across to Bournemouth and the ED will move into a new state of the art department in the Beach Building, alongside Paediatrics, Critical Care and Maternity.
Our values define who we are as #TeamUHD. They underpin everything we do now and in the future. They define how we treat our patients, visitors, and each other, our valued teammates and colleagues.
UHD is investing in services across the Trust, with many being transformed and developed following merger and the New Hospital Programme. This means that some services may move site this year or next, either temporarily or long term.
