Location: Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire
Start Date: January 2026
Contract Type: Full-time – Temp to Perm
Salary: £90 – £120 per day (depending on experience)

A forward-thinking specialist SEN provision in Milton Keynes is seeking a compassionate, skilled, and resilient Specialist SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), Speech and Language Needs, and associated communication and sensory profiles.

This role is ideal for individuals with experience in specialist settings who understand structured interventions, sensory regulation, and communication-based scaffolding. You will play a key role in supporting pupils’ emotional, social, and academic development through personalised approaches and consistent routines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide personalised support for pupils with complex learning, communication, and sensory needs in line with EHCP targets
  • Implement structured communication tools such as PECS, visual schedules, first/then boards, and task management systems
  • Support emotional regulation through proactive strategies including sensory circuits, movement breaks, and safe-space interventions
  • Work collaboratively with Teachers, Therapists, SENCOs, and external specialists to promote consistent progress
  • Contribute to a safe, supportive, and trauma-informed learning environment
  • Assist with care-related or physical support routines where required, depending on need

  • Experience supporting pupils with ASC, SEMH, SLCN, or complex neurodevelopmental profiles (specialist setting experience preferred)

  • A genuine passion for specialist provision and empowering pupils to develop communication, independence, and self-regulation skills
