Overview

An exciting vacancy has arisen for an enthusiastic and well-motivated Paediatric Dietitian to join our team of dietitians within the University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay. Barrow in Furness is on the South Cumbrian coast within easy reach of the Lake District National Park and offers a wide variety of leisure activities for a positive work life balance.

The successful applicant will work alongside an experienced multi-disciplinary team of Paediatricians, Nurses, Dietitians and Therapists who are responsible for providing a service across social and health care boundaries. The department is approved for training student dietitians. You will also provide support to junior and support staff within the wider Dietetic team. You will use your knowledge and skills to support the learning and development of MDT colleagues and contribute towards updating protocols and resources. Responsibilities

• Provide both inpatient and outpatient paediatric dietetics services across multiple sites within Morecambe Bay.
• Support learning and development of MDT colleagues and contribute to updating protocols and resources.
• Train and supervise student dietitians and junior/support staff within the Dietetic team.
• Work with an experienced multidisciplinary team to deliver services across social and health care boundaries.
• Participate in the development of nutrition support, enteral feeding, gastroenterology, food allergies and feeding problem management.

Qualifications and Experience

• HCPC registered Dietitian.
• Previous experience in paediatrics is preferred.
• Willingness to travel to other sites and clinic locations; the post is based at Furness General Hospital.

We operate from three main hospitals—Furness General Hospital (FGH) in Barrow, the Royal Lancaster Infirmary (RLI), and Westmorland General Hospital (WGH) in Kendal—along with community facilities across Morecambe Bay. All sites offer a range of services including emergency, planned care, diagnostics, therapies, day case and inpatient surgery, with local outreach services as applicable.
