A major health organization in Wales is seeking a Specialist Medical Engineering Technician to support medical equipment safety and functionality in acute hospitals. The role involves advanced fault diagnosis, maintenance of critical care equipment, and supervision of junior staff. The Medical Engineering (EBME) Team support all users of medical equipment in the acute and community hospitals within the Health Board, ensuring that equipment is always safe for use and that it performs as expected, maintaining the safety of both the users and our patients.
Previous experience of specialist medical equipment is essential supplemented with extensive knowledge on the repair and maintenance of complex electronic systems. Candidates should also have experience in the supervision and work load planning of other junior members of staff.
The successful candidate will be appraised on a yearly basis, and with a view to develop their knowledge and skills where appropriate.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
