Job description

You will be able to determine how to organise your time to meet the needs of the caseload within a Mental Health in-patient environment. You will also have the opportunity to participate in policy development, audit, research activities, pathway development, staff and student training at both a local and national level. You will work alongside another Registered Dietitian with experience in this field.

We are looking for a motivated Dietitian wanting to expand their skills, or learn new skills within a mental health inpatient setting. We will support you in developing the knowledge and skills you need to transition into the role. Candidates should be a Registered Dietitian, preferably with some experience of working in mental health or in-patient setting. A working knowledge of behaviour change approaches and motivational interviewing would be desirable.

Responsibilities
  • Organise your time to meet the needs of the caseload within a Mental Health in-patient environment.
  • Participate in policy development, audit, research activities, pathway development.
  • Provide staff and student training at both local and national level.
  • Work alongside another Registered Dietitian with experience in this field.
Qualifications
  • A degree / postgraduate diploma (or equivalent) in Dietetics, registration with HCPC (Health Care Professions Council) and membership of the BDA (British Dietetic Association)
  • Able to meet the requirements of the Job Description
  • Experience in healthy eating promotion, weight management evidenced by sound clinical knowledge
  • Experience and or a strong interest in Eating Disorders and Disordered Eating is essential - we can provide support in developing skills in these areas
  • Evidence of being a strong team player with a genuine desire to help others
  • Excellent communication / time management skills
