The Adult LDU is divided into three teams of broadly equitable population size based on GP patches. The team consists of a full-time Clinical Team Leader, Mental Health Nurses, Occupational Therapists, Social Workers and Support Time and Recovery Workers. All three Community Mental Health Teams in Torbay share an Accommodation officer, a Personality Disorder Lead and a Carers support team. The post holder will provide medical advice regarding the ongoing management of people who use services under the GPs. National guidance on new ways of working for psychiatrists and their teams has been adopted (DoH 2005, GMC 2005). The role and responsibility of the specialist doctors in multidisciplinary teams has been agreed by the Trust board and is outlined above.
