A regional healthcare organization in Bedford is seeking a Specialist Doctor to support community mental health needs. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in psychiatry, particularly with acute mental health conditions. You'll be responsible for providing comprehensive assessments and working within a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient care. This role offers the opportunity to make a significant impact on patient outcomes in the community context.
An exciting opportunity has risen for a Specialist Doctor to join the East London NHS Foundation Trust and to work with the Bedford team.
The post holder will support the community case load for Bedford Referrals come through the common referrals pathway. The candidate will have experience of working in this environment and will be tenacious in providing the best care over prolonged periods of time to achieve optimum outcomes for these patients using all treatment modalities.
1. Provide comprehensive assessment, diagnosis and management of issues relating to mental and physical health for adults with acute and severe mental illness in the community (over 18 years) so that intensive and timely treatment can be delivered to prevent chronicity and dependency on psychiatric services.
2. Provide clinical advice and guidance to primary care physicians to manage patients in the least restrictive environment
3. Undertake all work in the context of the recovery approach which is emphasised across the Trust, placing the service user at the centre of planning and decision making.
