Job description

Are you an enthusiastic dietitian with an interest in working with adults in the acute setting? An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and dynamic dietitian to become part of the Acute dietetic team at Hertfordshire Community NHS Trust (HCT), working at Lister Hospital in East and North Hertfordshire. This is a part-time position, advertised as 15 hours per week (mandatory hours to be worked on Thursdays and Fridays and remaining hours can be worked flexibly across the week). The successful candidate will work as part of the broader HCT Nutrition and Dietetic Service, which is Hertfordshire wide.

Main duties of the job

The role focuses on inpatient work including experience in the following areas:

  • ITU
  • Enteral and parenteral feeding in specialist areas such as stroke and gastroenterology.
  • Outpatient clinics (face to face and virtual).

Qualifications and Training
  • BSc Nutrition and Dietetics degree or equivalent
  • Registered with the Health and Care Professions Council
  • Attained or working towards a postgraduate qualification in a specialist area or evidence of significant experience in a specialist area.
  • Member of the British Dietetic Association
Experience and Knowledge
  • Evidence of a clinical portfolio in both inpatient and outpatient settings
  • Up to date knowledge of dietetic practice
  • IT literate
  • Evidence of CPD and commitment to life-long learning
  • Experience of supervising or mentoring students
