Job Summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced individual to become a pivotal part of our innovative and friendly team, serving the diverse communities of the City of London and Hackney. The Hackney Ark Children's Physiotherapy Team is a forward‑thinking service committed to supporting children with disabilities and their families so they can realise their potential and participate and play in their own environment.

Main Duties

Therapy intervention is goal‑led, client‑centred and flexible. Interventions may be delivered across a variety of settings: Hackney Ark (The Child Development and Disability Service), Homerton Hospital, early‑years settings, community settings, nurseries, mainstream and special schools, and in clients’ homes. Evening or weekend work may be required to support school or community events.

The postholder will manage a varied caseload of clients aged 0‑19 with a range of MSK and physical disabilities, together with a specialist area as part of the internal Band 6 rotations, which include:

  • Orthotics and visual gait analysis
  • MSK
  • Universal work / Health Integration team (HIT) rotation (working with the multidisciplinary team to improve access to leisure and community activities)
  • Special school rotation
  • Early years & neonatal intensive care unit

You will also manage junior staff including Band 5 staff, assistants and students, and work closely with senior physiotherapists to review and develop the service as a whole.
