Job summary

A leading healthcare provider in Glasgow is seeking a part-time Biomedical Scientist to manage technical operations in the Immunology and Neuroimmunology lab. Responsibilities include conducting diagnostic tests and being part of the on-call rota. Candidates must be registered with the Health Care Professions Council and preferably have experience in related laboratory settings. Overview

Role Summary

The post holder will be responsible for carrying out the day‑to‑day technical operations within the Immunology and Neuroimmunology lab based at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out day‑to‑day technical operations within the Immunology and Neuroimmunology laboratory.
  • Rotate through sections of the laboratory performing a range of manual and automated diagnostic tests.
  • May be required to complete a specialist portfolio in Clinical Immunology if not already obtained.
  • Participate in a weekend and public holiday on‑call rota after appropriate training.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Registered as a Biomedical Scientist with the Health Care Professions Council.
  • Experience working within an Immunology or Neuroimmunology diagnostic laboratory, or experience with techniques or methods used within these disciplines.
Employment Details

This is a part‑time post, working 32 hours a week over Monday to Friday. This is initially a 1‑year fixed‑term post, starting on 1/4/2026. Annex 21 may apply.
