Qualifications

  • Strong IT skills including Word, Excel, and Outlook.

  • Strong attention to detail with good organisational and time management skills.

Responsibilities

  • Responding to customer enquiries for aftermarket technical services.
  • Researching and preparing accurate quotations for customer review.
  • Processing customer purchase orders for the supply of spares.
  • Maintaining and updating the enquiry and contract database.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with customers.
  • Progressing enquiries and contracts to achieve targets.
  • Ensuring spares meet quality, specification, and standard.
  • Issuing quotations with correct commercial terms.

Job description

If you are a customer focused and technically minded professional who enjoys solving engineering challenges and supporting clients with high quality aftermarket solutions, this is a great opportunity to join a long-established engineering business known for quality, innovation and strong customer relationships.

This is a stand-alone role where you will manage customer enquiries, prepare quotations, coordinate the supply of spares and ensure technical accuracy at every stage. You will work independently day to day, with the support of experienced engineers available for more complex queries.

This position is ideal for someone with engineering knowledge who can read technical drawings and manage customer requirements from enquiry through quotations, procurement and delivery.

Some of the Spares Manager duties are:
  • Responding to customer enquiries for aftermarket technical services including spares, design consultancy and technical support
  • Researching and preparing accurate quotations for customer review
  • Processing customer purchase orders for the supply of spares including project management, procurement, delivery, documentation and invoicing
  • Maintaining and updating the enquiry and contract database
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with customers, subcontractors and suppliers
  • Progressing enquiries and contracts in line with agreed timescales to achieve turnover and profit targets
  • Ensuring spares are procured to the correct quality, specification and standard with all required documentation
  • Issuing quotations with the correct commercial terms and ensuring contracts meet company policy
To be successful in this role you will have:
  • A recognised qualification in mechanical or electrical engineering (no specific level)
  • Ability to read technical drawings and specifications
  • Knowledge of relevant technical and quality standards
  • Experience in a similar engineering or technical spares environment
  • Strong IT skills including Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Great communication skills and the ability to work well with customers
  • Strong attention to detail with good organisational and time management skills

This will be working Monday to Friday 37 hours a week with flexible start and finish times to suit you, usually between 8am-5pm, earning a salary between £43,000-£48,000 depending on experience.
