This is a full time, hybrid role involving a minimum of 3 x office days per week at our pet-friendly support office in Waltham Abbey (Essex) and up to 2 x days per week from home (or other Jollyes location as preferred). 37.5 hours per week.
The Role – Space Planner (Micro Space)
This role sits within our Commercial team and supports the Space Planning Manager in delivering accurate, data-led planograms and store-specific space plans that drive sales, improve profit and enhance the customer experience. The Space Planner will work cross-functionally with buying, merchandising, and supply chain teams to help execute space strategies, maintain systems and tools, and support category range changes and promotional events.
A full job description is available on request, but to summarise your key responsibilities:
- Support the creation, maintenance, and rollout of planograms across all categories, ensuring alignment with range plans and store formats
- Assist in the analysis of sales, space performance, and customer behaviour to inform layout and product placement decisions
- Maintain and update all space planning tools, databases, and trackers to ensure accuracy and data integrity
- Support the delivery of the range change critical path, including assisting with planogram creation, validation, and version control
- Help prepare materials for post-launch reviews, analysing the impact of space changes on performance
- Contribute to planogram inputs for promotions, events, and seasonal changes, ensuring smooth integration with the commercial plan
- Collaborate with category and merchandising teams to understand the trading and range priorities that impact space
- Identify and flag any issues that may impact on-shelf availability, implementation timelines, or store congestion
- Support through analysis reporting with relevant space data and insights
- Participate in regular planogram reviews, taking actions and updates as directed by the Space Planning Manager
The Skills – Space Planner (Micro Space)
To be successful in this role, you’ll need the following skills, experience and qualities:
- Previous experience in a retail head office environment within retail space planning, merchandising, buying admin, or category support
- Exposure to space planning software a strong advantage
- Understanding of store operations, product layouts, or range planning
- Experience handling data, Excel spreadsheets, or working with retail performance metrics
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines
- Proactive and willing to learn in a fast-paced retail environment
- Highly organised and reliable with a strong work ethic
- Adaptable and resilient in response to change or tight timelines
- Team-oriented, with a positive attitude and strong communication skills
