Sous Chef

Salary: £35,000 - £40,000 per year

Hours per week: 45

Here at The Mole Resort, we have an amazing resort set in acres of beautiful Devon countryside, jam-packed with delicious food and drink and a whole lot of exciting activities.

As a Sous Chef you will assist in running an efficient and profitable kitchen, using quality ingredients to inspire flavourful menus and prepare attractive food. You will prepare and cook dishes with support from the Head Chef.

What will I be doing?

As a Sous Chef at The Mole, you will perform tasks and follow standards delivered by the Head Chef. You are responsible for leading the kitchen throughout your shift whilst showing willingness to progress and deliver customer satisfaction through the dishes you prepare. Specifically, you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards :

  • Responsible for the ordering of quality fresh and frozen food for daily and specific needs.
  • Assist Head Chef in delivery of high quality products to our guests.
  • Support and develop the chef team as well as the front of house team.
  • Maintain kitchen area and ensure all station and utensils are in a hygienic condition at all times.
  • Be prepared to deliver and envision varying menus with locally sourced ingredients.
  • Deliver a speedy service whilst ensuring the quality and presentation of food.
  • Consider portion control to minimise waste and maximise GP whilst preparing dishes.
  • Understand and comply with Health and Safety legislation including Food Safety, fire precautions, legal requirements, and perform any other tasks that may be required from time to time.
  • Establish relationships with attending kitchen staff and other members of staff through the resort assisting in the delivery of service to our guests.
