A prestigious educational institution in Lancaster is seeking a Solutions Architect to join its Architecture team. This role involves collaborating with university stakeholders to develop and improve architectural solutions. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of architecture frameworks and proven experience in a solutions architecture role. The position offers hybrid working options to promote work-life balance, ensuring that a minimum of 2 days is spent on-site at the Bailrigg campus.
The Solutions Architect will be a member of the Architecture team in the department of Information System Services and will be involved in the development of architectures and standards for our enterprise solutions. The role will involve working with a range of academic and professional individuals including the Head of Architecture and the Infrastructure Architect.
This is a fixed term role until 31st January 2027.
This role will span discovery activities, where you will engage with stakeholders to understand University business needs, assess current systems, and identify opportunities for improvement.
You will contribute to the design of end-to-end solutions that align with architectural principles, security standards, and compliance requirements, ensuring scalability and sustainability.
You candidate will support the development and delivery of a complex, high-impact digital and systems change in a fast-paced and evolving environment.
In-depth knowledge of Architecture frameworks, principles, and best practices, with the ability to produce clear and concise architectural documentation
Proven experience in a solutions architecture role in a complex organisation.
Experience of identifying technical and business challenges, and of proposing innovative solutions to address them.

The role is primarily based on the Lancaster University Bailrigg campus, with flexible hybrid working options to support a positive work-life balance. We would expect a minimum of 2 days a week in the office.
