Job summary

A National Law Firm is seeking a Solicitor to join its Agriculture and Landed Estates team. The successful candidate will resolve disputes related to estate administration, wills, and trusts with a salary package of £58,000. Candidates should have a minimum of 2 years PQE and experience in ADR and mediation. This position requires confidence in liaising with legal bodies and the ability to travel for court meetings. The role is based in Wiltshire.

Qualifications

  • 2 years PQE in a relevant field.
  • Current practising certificate or ability to obtain one.

Responsibilities

  • Act for beneficiaries in claims for breach of executor/trustee duties.
  • Inheritance Act claims and advise on lifetime gifts.
  • Manage disputes in estate administration and trusts.

Role Overview

This role focuses on resolving disputes at an early stage, including through ADR and mediation.

As a solicitor in the Agriculture and Landed Estates team you will handle fee‑earning work for private clients across: Estate administration, Wills, Tax, LPAs, Lifetime tax planning, Farming & Agricultural Estate Planning, IPFD Claims and Trusts. Location: Wiltshire. Salary Package: £58,000.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act for beneficiaries in claims for breach of executor / trustee duties
  • Inheritance Act claims
  • Challenge gifts where capacity is in question
  • Advise on lifetime gifts to minimise future disputes
  • Defend challenges to Wills
  • Work on professional negligence claims related to Will drafting
  • Act in estate administration disputes and executor removal applications
  • Challenge Will validity
  • Manage disputes involving insufficient financial provision
  • Handle trust disputes
  • Manage disputes Support fee earners
Qualifications
  • 2 years PQE
  • Experience in ADR and mediation
  • Confidence liaising with courts and legal bodies
  • Experience using a case management system
  • Ability to travel for court or client meetings
  • 1 degree (or equivalent ability)
  • Qualified Solicitor in England & Wales
  • Current practising certificate (or ability to obtain one)
