Job summary

A leading tech company in the UK is looking for a Software Support Engineer experienced in Java and SQL. This remote role requires minimal office presence (1 day a week in Warrington). Software Support Engineer - Java - Remote

Software Support Engineer with experience in Java, around application support or software development & SQL, is required by a leading company based in the North West. This role will offer mostly remote, so it requires 1 day a week in the Warrington office. You can also progress into a fully-fledged Software Engineer role.

Experience required:

  • Excellent experience with Java in a development or application support environment
  • Solid understanding of programming concepts and structured software development.
  • ITIL standards, especially incident, problem, and change management.
  • Documenting and communicating effectively.
  • SQL wizard with database development.
  • Handle tight deadlines and meet tight SLAs with ease.

Duties include:

  • Dive into the technical analysis of the production software, looking for any issues and finding quick fixes that don't break things too badly. Work closely with their customers to help them solve problems and make sure the software is bug-free.
  • Make sure that any fixes we find are thoroughly tested and approved before they're released to customers.
  • Follow the SLA commitments to make sure that fault analysis, diagnosis, and resolution are handled correctly.
