📌 Job Description (JD)

Whilst working with us at Staffordshire County Council, you'll receive:

🔑 Key Responsibilities
  1. 1️⃣ Conducting Assessments
    • Complete Viability Assessments for family/friend carers
    • Undertake Full Connected Persons Assessments & prepare Special Guardianship Reports for court
    • Carry out statutory checks (DBS, references, medical, LA checks) & analyse risk
  2. 2️⃣ Legal & Regulatory Compliance
    • Ensure compliance with Fostering Regulations (Reg 24 temporary approval, Reg 25 extension)
    • Prepare applicants for Foster Panel & provide ongoing support
    • Apply duties from the Children Act 1989 & kinship care statutory guidance
  3. 3️⃣ Support & Supervision
    • Provide supervision to temporarily approved foster carers
    • Develop SGO support plans tailored to family needs
    • Work with Family Practitioners on complex referrals & ensure timely allocations
  4. 4️⃣ Multi‑Agency Collaboration
    • Work closely with Children's Social Workers, Kinship Service Managers, and external partners (e.g., Kinship charity)
    • Attend resource panels & contribute to permanence planning
