Adult Social Worker - Mental Health Team

Whiston Hospital, Knowsley Borough Council

Up to £32 per hour

Knowsley Borough Council is seeking an experienced and dedicated Adult Social Worker to join our busy Mental Health team at Whiston Hospital. This is a crucial role where you'll be instrumental in supporting vulnerable adults and their families within a hospital-based setting.

The Role

Working within the Mental Health social work team, you will be responsible for undertaking a full range of duties under the Care Act 2014. Your primary focus will be on ensuring the safety and well-being of individuals by carrying out person-centered assessments and developing support plans. A significant part of this role involves safeguarding and close collaboration with multi-disciplinary teams to protect adults at risk.

You will be based at Whiston Hospital for 2 to 3 days per week, working a standard 9 am to 5 pm day. You\'ll need to be highly skilled in managing complex cases and responding to crisis situations with confidence and empathy.

What We\'re Looking For

To be successful in this role, you must have:

  • Extensive experience working with adults in a Mental Health setting.
  • Proven expertise in Safeguarding Adults and a deep understanding of relevant legislation and procedures.
  • A comprehensive knowledge of the Care Act 2014 and its practical application.
  • A relevant Social Work qualification (e.g., Degree in Social Work, DipSW, CQSW).
  • Current registration with Social Work England.
  • Strong communication and partnership skills to work effectively with service users, families, and other professionals.
