What you will do
  • Manage roughly 20-24 cases involving complex Child in Need (CIN), Child Protection (CP), and assessments, ensuring each child’s voice is heard and needs are met.
  • Work closely with team members in one of six dynamic, supportive teams spread over Torquay, Paignton, and Brixham, each led by a Team Manager and accompanied by an Advanced Social Worker.
  • Attend the office up to three times a week, including full‑time presence during duty weeks, while also working from home as situation dictates.
  • Travel across Torbay and occasionally outside the area to visit children placed beyond Torbay.
  • Participate in the duty rota, covering duty one full week every three weeks.
Requirements
  • Registered with Social Work England.
  • UK qualified with a minimum of three years post‑qualifying experience (PQE) in direct employment with an English local authority.
  • Must not have left a permanent social work role within the past six months from a children’s services department or a local authority in the South West region.
  • Must be available to work from the office in Torbay each week.
