We require a social worker to join our busy community Adults Front-door team at Wigan Council. This is a fast-paced role within adult social care working under the Adult Front Door model of practice, using an asset-based approach. This would include the following:
We’re looking for someone who has significant social work, working on a duty team and crisis intervention experience within Adult Social Care.
You will have a degree or equivalent in Social Work and will be registered with Social Work England. You will be driven and confident at working in a fast-paced environment and can contribute to the effective running of MDT discussions, with excellent communication and organisational skills.

The multi-disciplinary team consists broadly of Occupational Therapy, Social Care, Reablement, Assistive technology staff, as well as Customer Service Advisors and Coordinators who handle calls/screen and prioritise referrals. We work closely with our allied health partners and stakeholder to support our most vulnerable residents. The team aims to respond to urgent need and to maximise opportunities for independence, prevention services, information advice and signposting. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role working as part of a multi-disciplinary team, promoting a joined-up approach within the team and with wider partners to achieve the best outcomes for our residents.
