Overview

Exciting opportunity for Social Workers and Approved Mental Health Professionals (AMHPs) in Tameside, offering both full-time and part-time hours. Join a newly formed Mental Health Team, working with Community Mental Health Teams, the Living Well service, and the Early Intervention Team. The role focuses on supporting individuals with moderate to severe mental health needs and contributing to the development of the evolving service.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate, commission, and deliver individual care and social support packages.
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to support individuals with complex mental health needs.
  • Ensure the Council's obligations under the Care Act and other statutory responsibilities are met.
  • Support young people transitioning from children\'s services to adult mental health services.
  • AMHP duties as part of the AMHP rota (approximately 2 duties per month) where applicable.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Qualified Social Worker with relevant experience in adult social care and mental health practice.
  • Current driving licence and access to a vehicle.
  • Enhanced DBS check (Barred List Disclosure) procedures required where applicable.
  • Professional standards and membership requirements as applicable to the role and regulatory bodies.
  • Desirable: progression towards AMHP qualification if not currently an AMHP; opportunity to receive support to achieve AMHP status.

  • Role may involve responsibilities consistent with professional grading and development pathways; progression through a professional grade development bar is subject to criteria including relevant qualification level, post-qualification experience, regulatory membership, and adherence to professional standards.
