Job Title: Safeguarding and DOLS Senior Practitioner
Location: Havering, UK
Salary: £36 per hour
Contract: Ongoing, Full-Time

What You Will Do

• Provide leadership and expertise in Safeguarding and DOLS, acting as an advisor on complex cases
• Lead on case management of highly complex DoLS cases, incorporating elements of risk, capacity, and safeguarding
• Supervise and develop a team of Social Workers, offering guidance on the Mental Capacity Act, including Deprivation of Liberty, Best Interest Assessment, and the Mental Health Act
• Deputise for the Team Manager and manage delegated tasks as appropriate
• Ensure effective application of legislation, policy, and procedures in the execution of duties

Essential Criteria / Qualifications Summary

• A professional Social Work qualification with current Social Work England registration
• Demonstrated commitment to professional development with evidence of post-qualification study and training such as Best Interests Assessor or Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards
• Proficiency in IT to efficiently handle case management systems and documentation

Experience / Knowledge Summary

• At least three years of experience as a Social Worker with substantial involvement in adult safeguarding and Best Interests Assessor work
• Strong understanding of legal and statutory responsibilities under the Care Act, Mental Capacity Act, and Mental Health Act
• Extensive professional experience and knowledge of Section 21A process and Re: X procedures
• Demonstrated experience in leading and supporting a team
