Job description

Birmingham City Football Club is on the rise.

With an incredible history dating back to 1875, Birmingham City Football Club is part of an exciting period of accelerated growth and modernisation, and is playing it’s part in once-in-a-generation opportunity to support the transformation of England’s second city as part of the Sports Quarter project. With significant investment across our football, commercial, and community operations, we are rebuilding the Club for long-term success — on and off the pitch.

The journey we’re on involves strengthening our structures, elevating our performance environments, growing our teams, and investing heavily in the people, processes and culture that will define the next chapter of Birmingham City FC.

We are looking for a creative, proactive Social Media Creator to join our Media – Fan Experience team. This role will play a key part in capturing, creating and publishing engaging social content, with a primary focus on Men’s football, while supporting Women’s and Academy coverage where appropriate. You will be hands‑on in content capture, short‑form video production and community management, working closely with the Social Media Manager, Social Media Executives and wider media team to bring our channels to life and connect meaningfully with our fans.

Please note - for this role you will be required to work matchdays so must be flexible on this.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Capture compelling content (primarily Men’s) and work closely with the Social Media Executive on publishing across platforms, with a particular focus on key channels
  • Take an active role in community management, engaging with our supporters and proactively joining relevant conversations across social platforms
  • Monitor social channels to identify storytelling opportunities and, in collaboration with the wider team, lead ideas from concept through to execution
  • Identify and execute untold matchday stories beyond the pitch at home games, using a social‑first approach while collaborating with the video team
  • Work closely with and provide support to the Women’s Social Executive and Academy Media Lead, identifying opportunities for cross‑team collaboration
  • Assist with content planning, scheduling and meeting deadlines across multiple platforms
What You’ll Bring To This Role:
  • Experience producing and managing social media content for brands, media outlets or organisations
  • Experience creating and editing social content, particularly short‑form video and graphics
  • Strong understanding of major social platforms, including algorithms, trends, posting best practices and native tools
  • Proficiency in producing and editing short‑form video using tools such as Adobe Premiere Pro, CapCut and other native mobile apps
  • Ability to track and interpret social metrics (engagement, impressions) and use insights to refine future content
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage content calendars and work to tight deadlines
What We Offer:
  • 23 days annual leave (plus bank holidays)
  • Contributory pension scheme
  • Opportunities for professional and personal development
  • Discount on purchases from the club shop
  • A supportive and inclusive working environment and opportunity to contribute to a defining period in the Club’s future
