Overview

Working as part of a team, you will be responsible for the delivery of care to older adults, consistent with Renfrewshire Health and Social Care Partnership policies and procedures. This will involve assisting residents in all aspects of personal, health and social care in a way which respects their dignity as individuals and promotes their maximum independence.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver care to older adults in line with partnership policies and procedures.
  • Assist residents in all aspects of personal, health and social care in a manner that respects their dignity and promotes maximum independence.
  • Undertake keyworker responsibilities and be able to work on your own initiative.
  • Be flexible and adaptable with capacity to learn and develop knowledge and skills.
  • Be supported by senior staff to achieve a high standard of work.
  • Support Social Care Assistants in their role.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Previous experience of working with older people and understanding their needs.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills; literacy skills.
  • A professional and courteous manner to residents, relatives, carers, health professionals and other agencies.
  • Hold or have the capacity to achieve an SVQ Level 3 in Care or equivalent.
  • Ability to work shifts, including weekends, on a rota basis.
  • Registration with the Scottish Social Services Council or achieve registration within 6 months of taking up employment.
  • Disclosure Scotland check may be required; the level of check will be determined by the duties of the post.
