Overview

Note: this is not a Swansea city council job. You will be working with a private client who receives direct payments.

I am a young boy living in Morriston with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). I am non-verbal, highly self-directed, and have significant learning needs. I enjoy trampolining, sensory activities, watching YouTube, eating and looking around stores. I would need a fast PA as I have no sense of danger and may try and run away from the PA. I love to giggle with sensory stimulation. My behaviour can be challenging. You will be working with another PA as I will need two PAs working together.

Hours of work

After school or weekends

7 hours for 2 PAs for school term

10 hours for 2 PAs for school holidays

Rate of pay

£12.75

Concerning the position

You will be formally employed by the Direct Payment Client, which requires a National Insurance number to be submitted. A trial period will be necessary in the first instance in the form of a six-month probationary period. Salary will be paid monthly (annual leave is calculated on a pro rata basis). A DBS must be processed prior to any commencement of employment. Costs of DBS will be met by Swansea council where the applicant is eligible.
