Job description

Allens Farm Partners is a large farming and contracting business with irrigated root crop, combinable crop, forage maize and anaerobic digestion enterprises, operating throughout mid Essex.

The Partners are looking for a skilled farm and sprayer operator based at the 1,000 acre Hammonds Estate near Chelmsford, with the objective of delivering excellent standards of farming. The farm grows irrigated root, cereal and sugar beet crops and benefits from very good infrastructure including modern grain storage facilities. The position has arisen due to retirement of the existing skilled farm operator after a career spanning decades on the farm.

The Role and Your Skills
  • Spray operator on various farms
  • Assisting with irrigated root, sugar beet and forage maize crop enterprises
  • Management of irrigation
  • Primary and secondary cultivations
  • Solid fertiliser applications
  • Use of GPS and precision farming systems
  • Ensuring continued attention to detail and timeliness of operations
