We're looking for a proactive and hands‑on Site Supervisor to join our team, ensuring the safety, security, and smooth running of our 55+ housing schemes. In this role, you'll be responsible for maintaining high standards of health and safety, cleanliness, and minor repairs across multiple sites. You'll carry out compliance checks, manage communal areas, and work closely with residents, contractors, and internal teams to deliver a safe and welcoming environment.
Responsibilities
- Work with external agencies on 55+ scheme specific issues and projects while ensuring all services delivered are in accordance with Hedyn policies and procedures.
- Work in partnership with other relevant bodies and areas of the association to ensure strategic objectives are delivered.
- Ensure the overall safety and security of 55+ schemes including fire alarms, community alarms, security lighting, CCTV, communal entrances, and access points.
- Comply with safety procedures regarding the recording of incidents, accidents, and other relevant information.
- Ensure the safe use and storage of equipment, chemicals, and materials on site, maintaining an inventory to ensure appropriate stock levels.
- Undertake communal cleaning, litter picking, waste removal, and window cleaning services as required.
- Conduct appropriate low‑level repairs in and around communal areas and work within resident properties where residents are unable to conduct works themselves.
- Be the responsible key holder for the 55+ scheme.
- Perform external soft landscaping including weed removal, grass cutting, and general grounds maintenance. Conduct gritting, salt spreading, and snow clearance as required.
- Responsible for administration, income collection, and room set up for all services, events, or Health & Wellbeing activities organised at the 55+ schemes.
- Respond to any emergency situations that arise whilst on site and report any safeguarding concerns in line with procedures.
- Identify residents with additional support needs and signpost to Social Services and other Health & Wellbeing agencies where appropriate.
- Undertake settling‑in services with new residents to familiarise them with site facilities.
- Collect, record, and monitor relevant performance information.
- Conduct 55+ scheme audits to establish a replacement programme for all communal items.
- Install Telecare equipment and maintain it on site.
- Manage guest flat bookings, payments, key release/collection, preparation for use, and cleaning following use. Coordinate with Hedyn teams for emergency use (e.g., decants).
- Monitor quality of work undertaken (cleaning, grounds maintenance, caretaking) and report or escalate concerns.
- Provide cover for other 55+ schemes and attend resident events as required.
- Assist in marketing of empty properties and conduct accompanied viewings.
- Conduct end‑of‑tenancy inspections and provide advice.
- Report and record incidents of anti‑social behaviour to housing management, relevant agencies, and the Police.
- Demonstrate client‑driven service by adhering to customer service standards.
- Promote resident engagement opportunities to enhance communities.
Qualifications
- Strong organisational skills and ability to work independently.
- Knowledge of health & safety practices (COSHH, IOSH, Legionella awareness).
- Practical experience in cleaning, basic DIY, and building maintenance.
- Excellent communication skills and a customer‑focused approach.
- Full driving licence and flexibility to travel between sites.
