A leading firm in structural steelwork seeks an experienced Site Supervisor in Loughborough. The role includes overseeing site operations, managing on-site teams, and ensuring the highest safety and quality standards. Essential skills include certifications in SSSTS, Crane Supervising, and a strong grasp of health and safety regulations. This position requires hands-on work in an outdoor environment, with a potential need for weekend or night shifts.
We're recruiting on behalf of one of our clients, a leading name in the structural steelwork industry. They're looking for an experienced Site Supervisor to join their growing team, someone who can take ownership of on-site operations, support Contract Managers, and ensure every project is delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards.
Our client's Site Supervisor will play a key role in coordinating installation, snagging, and general site works across multiple steelwork contracts. You'll oversee site teams and sub-contractors, maintaining quality, safety, and productivity on every project.
Conduct accurate site surveys and measurements, providing precise data for the design team.
Carry out pre-start site visits to assess conditions, access, and working areas.
Prepare and maintain RAMS, and deliver site inductions, toolbox talks, and team briefings.
Manage and monitor day-to-day site activity, reporting progress and issues as required.
Supervise sub-trades (e.g., painters) and assist with snagging and close-out works.
Maintain detailed site records, diaries, and photographic reports.
Manage labour and subcontractor resources, reviewing and signing off timesheets.
Support the Contract Manager with reporting, cost control, and commercial discussions.
Provide training, coaching, and mentoring to improve site performance and team development.
SSSTS (minimum), Crane Supervisor (minimum), CSCS Gold Card
IPAF & PASMA certification
Strong understanding of construction health & safety
Excellent knowledge of steelwork plant and equipment
Competent in interpreting drawings, planning, and decision-making
Strong communication, organisation, and reporting skills
Basic IT literacy (Word, Excel, Email)
The role involves hands-on, outdoor work, including working at height and manual handling. While standard hours apply, some weekend or night work may be required depending on project needs.
