About the Role

This is a people-focused supervisory role, leading operational teams to deliver high standards across Health & Safety, Environment, Quality, Fleet, Operational Delivery and Customer Service. You will set the standard on-site, ensuring compliance, driving performance, and continuously improving processes to deliver safe and efficient results.

Key Requirements
  • Lead and inspire operational teams, always prioritising safety.
  • Ensure colleagues receive training and support to remain competent and compliant.
  • Promote a “right first time” culture to minimise rework and customer complaints.
  • Plan and manage upcoming works to reduce disruption and prevent issues.
  • Review and approve contractor risk assessments and method statements.
  • Conduct safety audits, identifying hazards and implementing improvements.
  • Oversee vehicles and drivers, ensuring compliance with company standards and the Highway Code.
  • Provide operational support, including overtime, weekend standby cover and occasional night working.
Experience Required
  • Proven supervisory experience within the utilities or water sector.
  • Strong people management skills, with the ability to motivate teams and manage performance.
  • Confident communicator, able to balance client needs with business priorities.
  • Solid understanding of health and safety principles.
  • Minimum SSSTS (SMSTS preferred).
  • Streetworks Supervisor Card and CSCS Gold Card (Supervisor).
  • Experience in safe excavations and a sound knowledge of mainlaying processes.
Desirable Knowledge / Skills
  • IOSH qualification.
  • Working towards further health & safety accreditations.
  • Knowledge of project delivery from initiation to completion within the water sector.
