Role Overview

Full time Monday to Friday – 37.5 hours a week between 7am and 6.30pm (exact start and finish times to be agreed).

Permanent, all year round.

Salary: SM1 38 – £45,623.

Are you a confident, calm leader who thrives on responsibility and purpose? We're looking for an experienced and proactive Security and Amenities Manager to lead and deliver a comprehensive security strategy across our beautiful 130-acre school estate. This is a senior operational role with real impact, ensuring the safety and security of pupils, colleagues, visitors and external users, while fostering a culture of vigilance, professionalism and care across our school community.

The role would suit someone with a background in the military, police or wider uniformed services, or an experienced security professional who enjoys combining strategic oversight with hands-on leadership. This is a newly created role within our evolving Estates and Security structure, designed to strengthen on-site supervision and support as our school continues to grow and develop.

Key Responsibilities
  • Developing and delivering the school's Security Strategy, policies and procedures.
  • Leading compliance with Martyn's Law (Protect Duty) and wider statutory requirements.
  • Conducting regular security risk and threat assessments across the campus.
  • Coordinating responses to critical incidents, working closely with emergency services.
  • Overseeing lockdown procedures, training and scenario-based exercises.
  • Managing and developing the Security and Amenities Team, including rotas, performance and wellbeing.
  • Ensuring effective operation of access control, CCTV, visitor management and perimeter security.
  • Providing security advice and risk assessments for events and external lettings.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Experience in a senior security leadership role, preferably within an educational or large estate setting.
  • Strong leadership, sound judgement and a steady presence, particularly in high-pressure situations.
  • Knowledge of statutory and regulatory requirements for school security.
  • Excellent people-management skills and the ability to manage risk, incidents and safety.
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends to ensure appropriate security coverage across the school year.
