Overview

First People Solutions are partnering with a leading home/house building firm, and we are recruiting an experienced Site Manager on a permanent basis to cover projects throughout Edinburgh and East/West Lothian.

You will ideally be in Glasgow, Edinburgh, Fife or anywhere else throughout the central belt and able to travel to various sites throughout Scotland when required.

Requirements
  • Demonstrable experience in Site Management on large residential construction projects.
  • Skilled in managing direct teams, and subcontractors.
  • Strong knowledge of health and safety management on site.
  • Confident IT and record-keeping skills.
  • Full UK manual driving licence.
  • Willingness to travel across the central belt of Scotland.
  • SMSTS certification + Valid CSCS Management Card.
  • First Aid certification.
Responsibilities
  • Organise labour, and materials to ensure projects are completed safely and efficiently.
  • Take ownership of site health and safety, ensuring RAMS are communicated and followed.
  • Assist the Contracts Manager with initial set-up, implementing company systems and procedures.
  • Read and interpret technical drawings; carry out accurate material take-offs.
  • Manage and coordinate direct labour and gangers to deliver construction works.
  • Lead daily briefings and toolbox talks.
  • Keep clear and accurate site records, including diaries, allocation sheets, plant returns, and GRNs.
  • Contribute to weekly progress meetings, providing updates on resources and programme status.
  • Liaise with subcontractors, offering support to ensure smooth delivery.
  • Identify and escalate technical issues where appropriate.
  • Ensure works are delivered on time, within budget, and to programme requirements.
