Job summary

A leading recruitment agency is looking for an experienced Site Facilities Manager based in Northern Ireland. This pivotal role involves the effective management and improvement of facilities at a busy production site. You will lead a facilities team, ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, and spearhead continuous improvement projects. The ideal candidate has extensive experience in facilities management, strong leadership skills, and is confident in managing contractors and environmental documentation.

Site Facilities Manager

We are partnering with a long‑established manufacturing organisation in Belfast to recruit a Site Facilities Manager. This is a key leadership role responsible for ensuring the effective management, maintenance and improvement of a busy production site, covering buildings, grounds, utilities, environmental documentation and facilities compliance.

Reporting directly to the Operations Director, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining site standards, leading the facilities team, and driving continuous improvement across the operation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure full compliance with site Health & Safety policies and environmental standards.
  • Lead and manage the facilities team, deploying resources effectively.
  • Oversee day‑to‑day maintenance of buildings, grounds, drainage, bunds, walkways and associated infrastructure.
  • Manage cleaning, security, housekeeping and third‑party contractor relationships.
  • Coordinate and submit environmental documentation including CCLA, CHPQA, VALPAC and IPPC Schedule 4 reports.
  • Support ESG initiatives, including energy usage monitoring and reduction.
  • Manage site waste processes, including contractor selection, waste uplift schedules and compliance reporting.
  • Develop and maintain routine maintenance schedules for buildings and infrastructure.
  • Project manage site improvement works; coordinate construction professionals for larger projects.
  • Liaise with utilities providers, statutory bodies and regulatory agencies.
  • Oversee procurement and contract management for all facilities‑related expenditure.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, logs and permits for H&S and environmental compliance.
  • Undertake audits, inspections and follow‑up actions to continually improve site standards.
  • Deliver agreed KPIs as set by the Operations Director.
Person Specification
  • HND (or equivalent) in an Engineering discipline.
  • Safety/environmental qualification desirable or 3+ years relevant experience.
  • Minimum 3 years’ facilities management experience within an industrial or commercial environment.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience managing a team.
  • Experience managing contractors and negotiating contracts.
  • Strong organisational, analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Confident communicator with strong interpersonal and leadership ability.
  • Proficient IT skills.
  • NEBOSH qualification desirable.
  • Self‑starter with a hands‑on, proactive approach.
