Job description
Overview

Site Engineering Manager – Nottingham. Salary £60,000 - £65,000 per annum + benefits. Mon–Fri, Days. This role is with an industrial processing business, part of a larger group, with multiple sites in the UK. The company is preparing to move into a brand new facility in 2026.

Location: Nottingham, Nottinghamshire.

Responsibilities
  • Manage a team of 14 engineers in the engineering department with a view to growing the team.
  • Participate in the startup / setup of the new modern facility and oversee commissioning of new machinery.
  • Project manage commissioning activities and visit suppliers in Europe.
  • Work closely with other site engineering managers across the UK and visit their sites as needed.
  • Manage and develop the existing team through the move to the new site.
  • Ensure delivery of maintenance in line with KPIs and budget targets.
  • Implement new SOPs, PPM plans, SSOW, method statements, and training plans.
  • Manage contractors on the existing site and during commissioning of the new site.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement projects, asset care management, and health & safety.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
  • Established engineering manager with 5–10 years’ experience; must be hands-on and able to drive the team with a sense of urgency and enthusiasm.
  • Project management experience is beneficial.
  • NVQ Level 3 or higher in engineering.
  • NEBOSH / IOSH qualification preferred.
  • Willing to travel to other sites in the UK and visit OEM suppliers in Europe.
  • Experience in FMCG / manufacturing environments.
  • Experience implementing SOPs, SSOW, PPM plans, and supplier/contract selection.
  • Comfortable being hands-on and working with the team at the new site.
  • Experience managing budgets and CAPEX projects.
