Site Engineer – Major Energy Infrastructure Project (North East, UK)

We’re seeking an experienced Site Engineer to support the delivery of a large-scale reinforced concrete package on a major energy infrastructure project in the North East. The role involves providing technical and engineering support across multiple reinforced concrete structures, including turbine halls, condenser plants, and carbon capture facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the safe and efficient delivery of complex concrete and earthworks operations.
  • Uphold site safety standards by identifying risks, addressing unsafe acts, and ensuring compliance with environmental and quality requirements.
  • Carry out setting out for reinforced concrete structures and associated works.
  • Assist in material management, including take-offs, stock checks, and order coordination.
  • Prepare and implement Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), ensuring works are executed to the required standards.
  • Conduct site inspections and contribute to progress reporting.
  • Work collaboratively with the wider project team to meet key performance indicators (KPIs) and programme targets.
  • Support planning and coordination activities, identifying potential efficiencies and reporting these to the site team.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior or graduate engineers as required.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in civil or structural engineering, ideally on major reinforced concrete or energy/infrastructure projects.
  • Strong understanding of health, safety, and quality management systems.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends when required.
  • Valid CSCS card (appropriate level for role).
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Positive, proactive attitude with excellent teamwork and communication skills.
