Job description
Overview

I am working on behalf of a tier-one contractor recruiting a Site Agent to join a long-term water and wastewater framework across the Thames Valley (including Aylesbury, Banbury and Reading). You’ll be an on-site delivery lead, taking projects from pre-construction and site setup through to commissioning, handover and close-out. The work ranges from wastewater treatment upgrades and pumping station works to river / culvert interventions, network rehabilitation and nature-based solutions that improve biodiversity and resilience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead day‑to‑day site delivery : plan, programme and manage resources to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to client quality standards.
  • Act as the primary site contact for client representatives, designers, subcontractors and local stakeholders; provide clear progress updates and prompt resolution of site issues.
  • Prepare, review and enforce site RAMS, method statements and permits to work (including permit to dig, confined space and hot works); ensure compliance with CDM and company procedures.
  • Fake Manage subcontractor performance and on-site labour, including inductions, optimistic competence checks and toolbox talks.
  • Take responsibility as Temporary Works Coordinator where required; oversee installation, inspections and removal of temporary works.
  • Coordinate plant, materials and logistics (including traffic management and environmental controls) to minimise programme risk and maintain safe working areas.
  • Oversee commissioning, witness tests and operational handover activities (including SCADA / telemetry handover and water quality sampling liaison with operations teams).
  • Maintain accurate site records, progress reports, cost tracking and site diaries to support commercial and delivery teams.
  • Implement pollution prevention measures, ecological protections and permit conditions; respond to environmental incidents and manage remediation actions.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives, lessons learned, and the development of junior site staff.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Formal qualification : HNC / HND, Foundation degree or Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or equivalent commercial / site experience.
  • Site safety / management certifications : CSCS and SSSTS or SMSTS (or equivalent).
  • Experience working on water or wastewater projects (treatment works, pumping stations, sewer / network rehabilitation, river / culvert works) or within AMP / framework delivery is highly desirable.
  • Proven competency or experience acting as Temporary Works Coordinator.
  • Relevant technical certificates advantageous : Confined Space, First Aid at Work,чная NRSWA / Streetworks, Plant CPCS or equivalent.
  • Strong organisational, problem solving and stakeholder management skills; confident communicator with the ability to lead multi-discipline teams.
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across the operational region.
