About The Role

Are you passionate about driving operational excellence and continuous improvement? We’re looking for a proactive and results-driven Shift Operations Lead to support our Edinburgh bakery. In this pivotal role, you’ll lead the implementation of business unit improvement plans aligned with budgetary goals, while working closely with the site Leadership Team to achieve both annual targets and long-term strategic objectives.

This role is on a shift pattern of Days (M-F 5.30am - 2pm) and Afternoons (M-Th 1.30pm - 10pm, Friday 10am - 6pm).

Main Responsibilities
  • Execution of the safety system to deliver KPIs and improve wellbeing of our employees.
  • Continuously improve the quality system to eradicate repeat failures.
  • Continually develop our operations system to maximise performance.
  • Lead the operations team to improve plant output and delivery of customer service plans.
  • Delivery of financial budget aligned with the delivery of KPI’s in-line with assigned business unit objectives (waste, TOS, efficiency, machine uptime).
  • Work in partnership with site functions, in particular engineering to deliver daily, weekly, monthly and annual targets.
Who We Are Looking For
  • Proven experience of leading an operations function, driving change management and improvement strategies in an FMCG environment to improve overall site performance.
  • Use of continuous improvement tools and techniques, in particular SMED/DMAIC/5S/Autonomous Maintenance.
  • Proven track record of developing high performing teams in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience of working in a unionised environment.
  • Formal qualification in Manufacturing Excellence is desirable.
  • LEAN Six Sigma Green/Black Belt would be advantageous.
  • IOSH and/or Food Safety/Hygiene qualifications, desirable.
