Sheltered Housing Support Worker · Colchester · Permanent · Full Time: 37.5 Hours, Mon-Fri
Pay Rate: £25,254.00 per year

The role

As a Sheltered Housing Support Worker, you will play a key role in helping individuals maintain their tenancies, develop life skills, and build resilience to lead independent lives.

  • Delivering tailored housing-related support to customers across Colchester and the Tendring area
  • Supporting customers with maintaining tenancies and accessing essential services
  • Providing pre-tenancy advice and guidance to new tenants
  • Assisting customers in navigating welfare benefits and financial support
  • Encouraging independence by helping individuals build skills and confidence
  • Liaising with external agencies to ensure customers receive holistic support
  • Offering crisis intervention with professionalism and empathy
The candidate

The successful candidate will have previous experience in a similar support role, ideally within housing, care, or community services.

  • Has experience supporting individuals facing mental health, physical health, or employment challenges
  • Understands housing support needs, tenancy sustainment, and welfare benefits
  • Can communicate effectively and work independently across a patch-based service
  • Holds a full UK driving licence and has access to a vehicle
  • Is willing to undertake an Enhanced DBS check
The contract

Working Hours: 37.5 hours per week - 9:00 to 17:00, Monday to Friday

Length of Contract: Permanent
Rate: £25,254.00 per year, plus benefits
