SETTING OUT ENGINEER - GROUNDWORKS & RESIDENTIAL

📍 Location: Cricklade

💰 Salary: £45,000 - £55,000 per annum

A well-established groundworks and residential contractor is seeking an experienced Setting Out Engineer to join their delivery team on a permanent basis, working on residential and groundworks projects in and around Cricklade.

This role is ideal for a Setting Out Engineer with strong experience on housing and groundworks schemes, who is confident working on site and supporting the accurate delivery of works from start through to completion.

THE ROLE

You will be responsible for setting out and surveying works across residential developments and associated groundworks packages. This will include setting out foundations, drainage, roads, levels and external works, as well as carrying out as-built surveys and quality checks to ensure works are delivered in line with drawings and specifications.

You will work closely with site managers, subcontractors and engineers, providing technical support and ensuring accuracy, quality and programme requirements are met.

REQUIREMENTS

Candidates must have previous experience working as a Setting Out Engineer within groundworks and residential construction. You should be confident using Total Station and GPS equipment and comfortable working from engineering drawings and specifications.

A strong understanding of groundworks processes and residential construction is essential. Good communication skills and a proactive, site-based approach are required.
