Overview

Windsor Forest Colleges group is looking for a Sessional Tutor - ESOL to join our Windsor College team on a fixed-term, sessional basis working up to 5 hours per week.

Sessional Tutor - ESOL

This Sessional Tutor - ESOL role at Windsor College offers a sessional position with an hourly rate of £26.99 inclusive of holiday pay. The successful Sessional Tutor - ESOL will be responsible for delivering high-quality ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) instruction for up to 5 hours per week working across our Windsor College and Slough and Langley Campuses. Reporting directly to the Head of Adult and Community Learning this position is integral to helping learners achieve their potential in the ESOL program.

You will be responsible for effective teaching from ESOL Pre-Entry to Level Two, contributing to the development of the ESOL Plus curriculum, and covering classes during the day or evening as needed. The role also involves assessing student progress, maintaining accurate records, and promoting high attendance and achievement rates. Additionally, the tutor will need to stay updated on curriculum developments and participate in the college’s performance management processes.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Deliver ESOL instruction from Pre-Entry to Level Two.
  • Contribute to the development of the ESOL Plus curriculum.
  • Cover classes during the day or evening as needed.
  • Assess student progress and maintain accurate records.
  • Promote high attendance and achievement rates.
  • Stay updated on curriculum developments and participate in performance management processes.

Ideal candidates will have a positive attitude, the ability to build rapport with students and staff, and flexibility in working with diverse groups of students. Experience in educational settings, particularly with ages 14-16 and post-16 learners, is preferred. The role may require remote work, depending on circumstances, and adherence to college policies on health and safety, diversity, and equality is mandatory.
