Position – Service Engineer

Location – Manchester (Mobile Position)

Salary/Package – 37,500k – 45,000k (Negotiable/Experience), Van/Fuel Card, Evening Bonus, Expenses, Door to Door TT, Annual Salary reviews.

Client

My client is primarily responsible for maintaining, testing, and repairing critical ventilation and clean air systems used in healthcare and life science facilities. These systems are vital for infection control, air purity, and compliance with strict regulatory standards in operating theatres, cleanrooms, aseptic suites, and containment labs.

Purpose of the Role

To deliver high-quality service, maintenance, testing, and validation of specialist critical ventilation systems in clinical and laboratory environments. The Service Engineer ensures that systems meet regulatory compliance and performance standards, contributing directly to patient safety and controlled environments. (P601 – LEV Systems – advantageous)

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct planned preventative maintenance (PPM) of ultraclean ventilation (UCV) canopies, operating theatre ventilation, and critical HVAC systems.
  • Inspect and replace HEPA filters, fans, and other components as required.
  • Perform airflow measurements, pressure monitoring, and particulate testing to validate system performance in accordance with HTM 03-01 and ISO 14644.
  • Diagnose faults in electrical, mechanical, and control systems.
  • Produce detailed service reports, certificates of compliance, and validation records.
  • Document and report test results in line with client and regulatory requirements.

You must have or holds

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar role (preferably within NHS or cleanroom environments).
  • Familiarity with critical ventilation systems, clean air environments, and relevant UK standards (e.g., HTM 03-01, ISO 14644).
  • An Electrical Bias would be advantageous
  • Familiarity with DOP Hepa Integrity Testing is a plus
  • P601 – LEV Systems – Big Plus
  • Full UK Licence & able to pass an enhanced DBS Check

Progression through the company is possible, with in-depth experience of the role being an advantage, but not essential as full training will be provided where required.
