Job summary

A technology firm is looking for a Server Engineer to work hybrid (3 days onsite) in Crewe. The role involves using Hyper-V, configuring Windows Clustering, and maintaining server performance. Successful candidates will have experience with Active Directory and disaster recovery solutions. Knowledge of PowerShell, Ansible, or Terraform is essential. This is a contract position with a rate up to £349.60 per day, running until July 2026.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with network, security, and application teams to ensure seamless operations.
• Status reporting to senior stakeholders.

Skills

Use of Hyper-V with client’s standard build processes

Good experience and understanding of Windows Clustering

Good experience in configuring Network Load Balancers

Knowledge of CIS hardening implemented using GPO

Knowledge of Active Directory and Certificate Authority

Automate server provisioning and configuration using tools like PowerShell, Ansible, or Terraform

Implement and maintain backup and disaster recovery solutions including BMR

Monitor server performance and availability using tools like Nagios, SolarWinds, or equivalent client tool

Maintain documentation for systems architecture, processes, and procedures
