Excellent opportunity to join a mediuem sized consultancy, where everyone matters.

The Exeter team provide transport planning advice to clients across a range of sectors, including residential, retail and logistics on a variety of projects. Due to continued expansion and our ability to win multiple large projects in the region, they have a fantastic opportunity for a senior transport planner to join our industry-leading team based out of the Birmingham office.

The role

Working with a close-knit team, you will be responsible for the delivery of a wide range of transport assessments for various clients across the UK using detailed knowledge and experience of standard modelling packages and recognised transport appraisal techniques.

Duties will be varied but responsibilities will include:

  • Management and delivery of projects in line with client expectations and priorities
  • Continued development of personal knowledge and keeping abreast of relevant technical, legal and policy changes
  • Use of personal judgement and initiative to develop effective and constructive solutions
  • Providing guidance on quality matters and technical issues
  • Developing client relationships to ensure the securing of work

Whether they are working on garden towns, strategic rail freight interchanges, nuclear power stations, sports stadiums, public sector schemes or small residential projects, they combine vision and creativity with technical rigour in design, planning and modelling to ensure the best outcome.

Their team of social scientists, transport planners and climate specialists have a wealth of experience assisting in developing science-based and net zero carbon reduction targets.

About you

They are looking for a transport planner with experience in a comparable consultancy or local authority environment, as well as:

  • Relevant degree (or higher) level qualification
  • Membership (or working towards) of a relevant professional body
  • Proven project delivery capabilities
  • Strong software modelling capabilities on relevant software packages ARCADY/PICADY/LINSIG
  • A good knowledge of transportation planning aspects of the planning process
